Mumbai - Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd., a Hinduja Group company, conducted the eighth 'Gulf Foster a Child Car Drive' a CSR initiative, in Mumbai, in January 2010. The top 3 teams of this amazing drive, were gifted with a lifetime experience by Gulf Oil yesterday. Yes, these lucky winners got a chance to meet the star of the millennium- Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
Certainly, it could not get bigger than this for the participants and the kids! Mr Bachchan participated in this noble occasion in full spirits and had a ball time with the winning teams and the kids.
The drive was flagged off by 'Teen Patti' stars - Dhruv Ganesh, Shraddha Kapoor, & Vaibhav Talwar. They spent some memorable time with the kids at the event, and also awarded them with prizes after the event concluded. But Gulf Oil has taken a step ahead to add another precious moment to the children's lives. Meeting Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has been the dream of one and all, and Gulf Oil has managed to turn a few dreams into reality.

Every year, some interesting twist is given to the event, to make it even more special for the all participants as well as the underprivileged kids. This event has been organized by Gulf Oil for the 8th time in a row. This year some participants from the Corporate and Media world also joined the event and contributed to this social cause
What was unique is that 50 wide-eyed orphans from Our Lady's Home, Parel and St. Anthony's Home Byculla were present to enjoy this gala event. No doubt, this being a classless event it meant that any person with a valid driving license was welcome to participate but additionally each car's crew was to be a team combining of a driver, navigator and minimum one child plus one orphan / underprivileged child. And yes, it was mandatory for every participating vehicle to have one orphan / underprivileged child in the vehicle allotted by the organizers. The above mentioned orphanage / under privileged institutes were supported by Gulf Oil Corporation in terms of Kind - Gifts which these institutions were in need of.
