New Delhi - GAIL visited SOS Children's Village Rajpura to extend its helping hand towards a noble cause of Children's education. As a token of noble gesture, Mr. Mittal - General Manager, GAIL presented a cheque of Rs.2,40,000 to Ms. Seema Jairath, Village Director, SOS Children's Village Jaipur.
GAIL has donated this amount towards Corporate Education Sponsorship for 40 children at Children's Village, Jaipur. Mr. Sangha - Head HR and Mr. Behera - Deputy Manager from SBI were also present during the event.
SOS Children gave a traditional welcome to Mr. Mittal which was followed by garlanding of the statue of Dr Hermann Gmeiner, the founder father of the SOS movement in India. Mr. Mittal was amazed to witness the enthusiasm with which these children performed at the cultural programme and praised SOS Children's Village for their selfless efforts of bringing up needy children.
Extending gratitude Ms. Seema Jairath, Village Director, SOS Children's Village Jaipur, said, "We are highly grateful to GAIL for their commitment towards such a noble cause. SOS is a unique model, perfected over time and still has a long way to go. With such friendly support from GAIL, it will help us in providing efficient services to our children." Ms. Jairath briefed Mr. Mittal about various activities in children's village to nurture the children towards the better future.
Impressed with the activities of SOS Children's Village, Mr. Mittal promised to continue the support of GAIL in the future too. The event saw children exhibiting the purity, energy and vibrancy which are there in their souls too.
