Oxford Bookstore hosts the launch of Divya Johar Bawa's 'The Adventures of Chiya the Yellow Birdy'

New Delhi - Oxford Bookstore, New Delhi hosted the launch of a special book aimed at aiding the basic development of toddlers - 'The Adventures of Chiya the Yellow Birdy' by Divya Johar Bawa.

The occasion was graced by the versatile actor Vidushi Mehra and Reema Mehra along with renowned designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil who released the book in the presence of parents and educationists like Mrs. Neelu Sarin, Area Director, Special Olympics.

'The adventures of Chiya the Yellow birdy' is a book written and conceptualized especially for preschoolers. It deals with various characteristics of a child's development like colours, sounds, vocabulary, the environment around them and the social behaviour in a very simple manner. The first story talks about the duck and the frog, their sounds, habitats etc. illustrated beautifully so that the child can connect to the story immediately. The book highlights the necessity of inculcating good food habits in toddlers. The story is useful and can be read to preschoolers when they need to go back to school after a holiday break. It helps the children to settle back into a routine faster.

Overjoyed with audience's response to the book, Divya Johar Bawa said, "The book is dedicated to all toddlers and I am particularly grateful to Oxford Bookstore for supporting me and giving me this platform to share my thoughts through this book. This book will serve as a perfect companion for a child in his early years. The preschool stage is an important phase - a time between infancy and childhood when a child learns and grows in many ways. By the time the child masters new skills in each stage, another stage begins. During the toddler stage, most children learn to walk, talk, solve problems, relate to others, and more. This is the time when they require maximum care and attention as they learn and grow to be independent."
