Enthiran Draws Huge Crowds, Rewrites Record Books

Super Star Rajinikanth in and as EnthiranSuperstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited blockbuster film "Enthiran" hit theatres across the world on October 1, 2010 (Friday). The film was released simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu as "Robot".

The cast of the film includes Rajinikanth in dual role, Aishwarya Rai, Santhanam, Karunas and Danny Denzongpa. The film was directed by super-hit director Shankar. Academy award winner A R Rahman has scored the music for the film.

The film is touted as the costliest Indian film ever made. The film was produced by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi's nephew Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures. The film is released with over 2000 prints and touted as a major world-wide release after block buster Spiderman.

The film has been a block buster hit and rewrites record books. Rajinikanth is the highest paid actor in India and people were waiting for his movie for a long time. After his super hit film Sivaji, Rajinikanth's Kuselan bombed in the box office. But, Rajinikanth was not the hero of that film (Kuselan).

Rajinikanth features in dual roles with one as a scientist and another as a Robot. The movie opened in theatres across the world on Friday and it looked like Festival time. Crowds thronged the theatres from early in the morning. The shows started as early as 4 AM in the morning on Friday (October 1, 2010).

With holiday on October 2, 2010 due to Gandhi Jayanthi, the movie is expected draw huge crowds over the weekend. The reviews have given verdict as the movie is grand and touted as a grand success. Rajini's fans expressed their love through Milk Abhishekam, Camphor Arathis to his cut outs.

The crowds in the theatres were mixed with men, women and children of different ages were seen eager to watch the movie.
