New Delhi: Omaxe Ltd, the leading real estate developer, is awarded the contract to construct the complex of prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), at Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. The contract which is awarded by Ministry of Health & Family welfare, GOI, is pegged at Rs 648 million.

Under the contract Omaxe will develop the college complex which will also house the hostel for boys and girls alongwith a separate hostel for the nurses. This project comes under the ambitious GOI scheme of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana announced by the then Finance Minister P. Chidambaram.

Speaking on winning the contract, Mr. Rohtas Goel, CMD, Omaxe Ltd said, “Our experience and expertise in the construction of hospitals will help us in providing an infrastructure which will be in sync to the requirements of this project and we aim to complete this within the stipulated period”.

Apart from this other construction projects by Omaxe include Manyavar Kanshiram Allopathic Medical College and its Affiliated Hospital at Saharanpur, U.P, Modern Jail at Faridkot and Kapurthala. The company is also engaged in modernisation of three ESI Hospitals at Cuttak and Bhubneswar and construction of a township at Dariba in Rajasthan. The total value of these projects is pegged at approx. Rs 758 crore.
