New Delhi - They are considered a force to reckon with in the North With the maximum number of titles won, Delhi based outfit New Delhi Heroes Football Club (Delhi's only football club having pan India recognition) is expected to dish out an aggressive band of football in the upcoming ONGC II division I-League. The club kicks off their maiden I-league second division campaign against Simla Youngs at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi on the opening day i.e. 27th March, 2010.

The I-League 2nd division qualifying round will be held from March 26 to April 25 in three venues viz. Delhi, Bangalore and Tripura. 21 teams will be participating in the qualifying round and have been divided into three groups. Top two teams from each group will then meet in the final round along with Mohammedan Sporting and Vasco S.C (who faced relegation last year in the I-League Division I) scheduled to be held at Bangalore.

The heroes will play in the Delhi-leg of the I-League second division in Group "B. The team is clubbed with ONGC, SESA Goa, Amity United, Simla Youngs, Hindustan FC and Indian Nationals FC.

Considering the fact that New Delhi Heroes, the only club from the capital to have played in the Federation Cup and register a win against I-League toppers Sporting Club de Goa, Football experts predict that the two main contenders to qualify from Group-B would be ONGC and New Delhi Heroes.
