Bangalore: Wipro's sustainability initiative has been evolving rapidly since its inception more than three years back and includes several dimensions, each of which is a separate program in itself – Energy Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Mitigation, Water Efficiency, Waste Management, Biodiversity, Health and Safety, Diversity, Education, Community Care and Advocacy.
An integral part of Wipro's sustainability program is its commitment to reporting and disclosures. Wipro believes that extensive, transparent reporting acts as both a compass and a catalyst – by helping set the right direction to move in and by accelerating progress through a constant process of feedback and measurement. The past year saw Wipro raise the bar constantly on this front and winning several global recognitions in the process -
1. Qualifying to be a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index ,
2. Topping the rankings of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index based on Oekom AG's sustainability ratings of companies and
3. No. 1 Ranking in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (India).
Wipro's recently released sustainability report based on the GRI framework has been rated A+ for the third successive instance. The rating reflects the highest standards of disclosure and is based on a rigorous external audit by DNV AS, the globally renowned provider of sustainability assurance services.
Apart from these, Wipro offers an integrated portfolio of green solutions for its customers spanning Green Computing, Clean Energy, Managed Energy Services and IT for Green solutions.

It is the nucleus of Wipro's sustainability initiative and guides us as a responsible organization in engaging with some of the defining ecological and social issues of our time. 'Living the Future', the theme of our third sustainability report points to the urgency of advancing the vision of a world that balances the three essentials of ecological preservation, social equity and economic well being.
