Mumbai: The LED Manufacturers Association (LEDMA) formed in August to address the issues of the growing LED industry and to make people aware of the future lighting technology will be formally inaugurated today by the Union Minister of State for Power Hon'ble Shri Bharatsinh Solanki in New Delhi at Hotel Ramada.
LEDMA also seeks to draw the Government's attention towards subsidy for LED lighting products and hopes to help waive-off of taxes as in the case of solar products in the country.
A constitutional body has been formed under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2001 in Hyderabad and the Association plans to build its zonal presence in the future. The first meeting was attended by about 50 Manufacturers.
Along with the inauguration the Hon'ble Chief guest will also launch the LEDMA website. This website aims to increase the awareness of cost effective, sustainable green energy solutions along with providing innovative technological solutions for lighting applications .
This conference will also be attended by dignitaries like Shri Ajay Mathur, Dir. Gen. BEE & Shri G.B. Pradhan, Additional Secretary, MOP among the others
Addressing the gathering Dr. M V Ramanarao, President LEDMA said, "I thank Hon'ble Shri Bharatsinh Solanki for being present at this event. I take this opportunity to say that The Association will regulate the working of the Indian LED industry to ensure its quality product delivery, adherence to international standards and its success in the long run."
